Updated on Motor Vehicle Sales Trading Under Alert Level 4 Regulations

The DTI has today (3 May 2020) advised that it will work in close consultation with NAAMSA to produce specific directions for car dealerships to trade under the Alert Level 4 regulations. The challenges faced by used car operations have been noted and will be included in the
consultation process.

The DTIC aims to finalise these guidelines by Tuesday this week. In the interim, we have been requested to push back our sales of vehicles to an absolute minimum (essential services only) until the Direction is published or a similar arrangement is approved.

For safety reasons, we have agreed that a 30% maximum staff compliment on each site will be mandated where practical for operations over 10 people. Monday and Tuesday will be used to ensure that our Dealerships are absolutely ready in terms of the Department of Health Covid-19 Standards as read with the requirement of the Regulations.
Workshops can continue to deal with Essential Service Emergency customers until the wider scope of Alert Level 4 regulations has been clarified.
