NADA has been advised by the licensing authorities that all motor vehicle dealers and their staff need to be alerted to a countrywide scam of illegal 21 days permits being sold to motor vehicle dealers and / or individuals.

NADA members are advised as a matter of urgency to integrate their vehicle licensing procedures and processes to ensure that no illegal 21 days permits have inadvertently be purchased and / or used when delivering motor vehicles to their customers.

The licensing authorities have made it patently clear that any motor vehicle dealers and / or individuals who decide to further indulge in this illegal practice will be dealt with to the fullest extent of the law, which could result in the imposition of hefty fines, prison time and / or both.

NADA appeals to its members to take all necessary and appropriate action within their dealerships to ensure that they are not inadvertently exposed to this illegal practice.
